THE RESPONSE PROJECT: RESPONDING TO THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGEClimate change is a reality. The impact, for people living along Europe's coastline, could be catastrophic: sea level rise means increased danger of flooding, coastal erosion and landsliding. Already, in some parts of Europe, the sea is encroaching despite all Man's efforts to hold it back. A consortium of partners from across Europe have funded a three-year project to investigate the problem and recommend a way forward. The project, called 'Response', was carried out by the internationally-renowned Isle of Wight Centre for the Coastal Environment. coastal erosion on the Isle of Wight The project has just come to an end, and Utility Films were commissioned to make a film as part of the IWCCE's report on it. The film was shown at the 'Response' project launch in December 2006 in Brussels, where the various partners from across Europe will debate the report and the way forward for the world. This was an interesting and challenging project for us, requiring as it did a wide variety of location shoots, complex editing and multiple soundtracks.
